Max

with 2 comments

Max, in not so many words, is an (almost) impossible dog to photograph. I am undecided if he is camera shy or he simply enjoys annoying me. The minute the camera is pointed at him, he turns away. So, I am left with having to think of different ways of photographing him.

A dull day, a sad day, a frustrating day — but everything seems bright when a small furry object hurls into your arms and tells you how very glad he is to see you home. Pam Brown, B.1928

The moon

leave a comment »

There is something mildly satisfying about being able to capture a decent moon shot. I was beginning to have my doubts about this but yeah…. here’s a pretty decent one that was taken recently. :)

Full moon

Such nights make me wish I had a tower set up on the roof of my house. I believe I could sit there for hours just starting at the skies.

Joe McNally is amazing!

leave a comment »

I’ve been browsing through the aisles of Kinokuniya a lot and if you’ve been to the photography section recently (which is upstairs), you would’ve noticed Joe McNally’s book entitled “The Moment It Clicks”. I stood on my feet for 2 hours reading the book. I didn’t know that at a corner at the end of the room, there was a bench. But the 2 hours spent standing were so worth it! It’s an amazing book and here’s a video of Joe McNally giving a talk about his book.

The video is over 60 minutes long. You’ve been warned. :)

Up, up and away!

My favourite jumper deserves a post of its own. In fact, I think it has generated a personality of its own… or maybe it has given me the kind of personality that I would like to have. I’m not referring to the whole Clark Kent/Superman glasses on/glasses off thingy but rather standing up for what is right and what I believe in.

Here it is y’all… my Superman jumper.

Favourite jumper...

Fyi, this shot was taken using my Nikon L3 during lunch by Skinny.

We took this the last time we were at Bijou Bazaar. If you’re interested, they’ll be at the same place this weekend, the 31st of May – 1st of June. :) It’ll be held at this super cool looking boutique hotel at Bangsar; D’jumpa Deramo. Look out for those coloured windmills.

A few faves from the bird park

with 4 comments

It was a thrill to have some of these giant birds walk freely around me as I attempted to take photos of them. Some eyed me suspiciously while others gamely stood still for me.

By the time I left the bird park, I had fed the mosquitoes a whole pint of my blood, I was bitten by a worm that fell from a tree (I think!), I had a bird sh*t on me and my t-shirt was so messed up because I was leaning over railings that were not that clean. I thank my lucky stars that I did not step into any poo that littered the ground.

Here are some faves:

Flamingo

Hornbill

This muh lunch... you go away.

One half of a love bird

Blue feathered thingy

And my favouritest shots were of the ostriches….! Check out them lovely eyelashes, yo!

Buzz me!

with 4 comments

It is no secret by now that I love taking photographs.

So, if you know of anyone who would like to be in my photos or would like to have their photos taken, please do drop me an email at renee.tansy@gmail.com.

It doesn’t matter if it’s one of those “just-because” photo sessions or a couple session or a single portraiture session…. or any session for that matter.

I’m hoping to see some emails soon.

Cheers!
